Off the lake road, back onto the highway
The lake road climbs away from Highway 41 and loops around the water, so whichever end of the loop is closer to your place puts you back on the highway. From there it is into Oakhurst, where Road 426 branches off in town.
In July the first part of that drive is the slow part, because the roads around the shoreline carry every boat trailer in the county. In February it is the quickest trip in our service area. Booking a morning appointment in summer avoids most of it, and the office would far rather give you an early slot than have you sit in traffic worrying about being late.
What the office can do for you
Dr. Robert J. Brosi is a general dentist, and the practice covers the range a household normally needs. Exams, cleanings and digital x-rays for keeping what you have. Crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and root canal therapy for rebuilding what has failed. Charting and treatment of gum disease, which takes more teeth from adults than decay does and gives almost no warning.
On the appearance side there is whitening, bonding, veneers and porcelain work, planned so it does not announce itself. There are also clear aligners, treatment for jaw pain and clenching, and oral appliances for people already diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Anything that breaks unexpectedly falls under dental emergencies, and the advice there is always to call early in the day.
Planning around a year that has two halves
Part-year residents run into the same handful of problems. All of them are easier to solve in advance than in the middle of them.
- Book the whole year at once. If you are here from spring to fall, put both visits on the calendar before you leave in the autumn. Slots in May and September go early.
- Keep one dental record, not two. A history split between two offices in two counties is how a small problem gets watched by nobody. Pick one, and have the other send records.
- Start longer treatment early in your season. Anything involving a laboratory needs at least two visits with a wait in between. Beginning it in the last fortnight before you leave is how people end up wearing a temporary for months.
- Say when you are leaving. If we know your window, the sequence can be planned to fit inside it or deliberately paused at a safe point.
- Use the winter if you are here for it. The quiet months are the easiest time to get a long appointment at short notice.
